Want to post a news? Shanxi Agricultural University was founded in 1907 and was one of the 99 key universities in China at the beginning of the reform and opening up. In October 2019, Shanxi Agricultural University and Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences were merged for reform, and a new Shanxi Agricultural University was established. SXAU (SAAS) currently has two campuses, namely Taigu Campus and Taiyuan Longcheng Campus, as well as research institutions scattered throughout the province. Among them, there are 22 teaching units and 20 directly affiliated research institutions. The campus covers an area of 3,075 mu, with a building area of 1.455 million square meters. Currently, there are 4,358 staff members and over 30,000 students on campus. SXAU (SAAS) has been striving to broaden channels for international exchanges and cooperation. Currently, it has established cooperative relations with 37 universities and research institutions in 16 countries. At the same time, it actively integrates into the construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative", joins organizations such as the "Silk Road Agricultural Education, Science and Technology Innovation Alliance", builds international science and technology cooperation bases and the "Belt and Road" International Sorghum Industry Science and Technology Innovation Institute. Students from countries such as Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Pakistan come to SXAU (SAAS) to pursue degrees.
