Want to post a news? 2008。Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) is a comprehensive and non-profit provincial agricultural scientific research institution directly under the provincial government, also the contractor of National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain and Shandong Provincial Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center. It ranks the top with its comprehensive strength among its peers across the country. In 2015, SAAS was awarded as National Civilized Unit. At present, SAAS consists of 11 departments, 21 research institutes, and 17 branches with guiding relationship, as well as 1 post-doctoral scientific research station. SAAS focuses on developing eight discipline clusters, and its research fields mainly cover 44 disciplines including food and cash crops, fruit trees, vegetables, livestock and poultry, sericulture, resources and environment, plant protection. Also, it outperforms its peers across the country by having established 106 national, ministerial and provincial innovation platforms. SAAS remains steadfast in the opening-up operation strategies, and has established sci-tech partnership with more than 10 international organizations such as International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and scientific research institutions, colleges and universities in more than 60 countries or regions. In 2008, SAAS was accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology as International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Base.
