Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences（GAAS）Established in 1905, the GAAS has evolved into a provincial-level comprehensive agricultural research institution comprising 18 specialized research institutes. Its expertise spans over 50 disciplines, including crops, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, tea, sericulture (mulberry and silkworm), medicinal plants, livestock, veterinary science, aquaculture, soil science, fertilizers, plant protection, and agricultural science and technology information. The academy employs 1,567 staff members, of whom 1,236 are technical professionals, including 520 senior professionals and 178 PhD holders.It remains focused on food security, the supply guarantee of major agricultural products, and the development of characteristic and advantageous industries, upholds the principle of Putting People First and Technology for the People. It has established long-term, stable partnerships with agricultural research institutions in 23 countries, including Australia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, and Laos, contributing Guizhou’s agricultural science wisdom and strength to safeguarding national food security and advancing sustainable agricultural development
