Want to post a news? Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences（AAAS）is a comprehensive scientific research institution directly under the provincial government, which was established in 1960. It has 14 professional research institutes, including Crop Research Institute, Rice, Tea, Sericulture, Industrial Crops, Vegetables, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Fisheries, Soil and Fertilizer, Plant Protection and Agro-Products Safety, Agro-Products Processing, Agricultural Economy and Information, Agriculture Machanization and Engineering. AAAS has established 17 ministerial-level scientific and technological innovation platforms, 24 provincial-level scientific and technological innovation platforms. AAAS takes the lead in establishing the Anhui Laboratory for Biological Breeding. The Lingjiahu Comprehensive Experimental Field, covering an area of 7,100 mu and located in Dingyuan County, is being planned and constructed at a high standard. The comprehensive experimental building of agricultural biological sciences, with a floor area of 18,000 square meters, had been put into use. The main body of the Anhui Provincial Agricultural Germplasm Resources Center Library, which can preserve 450,000 copies of germplasm resources and is available for sharing across the province, has been completed. Institutions, AAAS had established two cooperation platforms jointly built with international organizations. In cooperation with local governments, AAAS had established five research and development institutions through cooperation between the academy and local regions. AAAS undertakes 7 scientist positions in the National Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System, 22 comprehensive experimental stations, as well as the positions of 6 chief experts and 3 deputy chief experts in the Provincial Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System.Currently, the academy has 853 on-the-job employees. Due to the outstanding contribution of them, many prizes and honors had been achieved, including 49 enjoyed special allowances from the State Council, 40 enjoyed special allowances from the provincial government, 40 academic and technical leaders in Anhui Province, 4 National Special Support Program for High - level Talents, 7 National Hundred-Thousand-Ten-Thousand Talents , 3 young talents of the Shennong Yingcai Program of MARA, 2 talents of "Anhui Province Outstanding Contribution Talent Award", 5 Jianghuai Talents of Excellence in Anhui province.AAAS has more than 100 scientific research teams. One team had been selected as an outstanding agricultural scientific research talent and its innovation team by MARA, one team had been selected into the key area innovation team of the Science and Technology Ministry's Innovation Talent Promotion Plan, and 12 teams had been successively selected into the provincial "115 Industrial Innovation Team".Since the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, AAAS had undertaken 3,958 scientific and technological projects of various types, and won 175 national, ministerial and provincial-level scientific and technological awards, including 5 national scientific and technological awards and 26 first prizes at the ministerial and provincial levels. A total of 647 new crop varieties (lines) have been examined (appraised and recognized). 718 national invention patents had been authorized , ranking third among scientific research institutions in the province. 19 national and industrial standards had been formulated. 2,878 academic papers of various kinds had been published , including 883 indexed by SCIEI ,and 78 scientific and technological works had been published.Two disciplines, namely agricultural science, and botany and zoology, have entered the top 1% of the global ESI, ranking fourth in parallel among similar institutions across the country. Research in two-line breeding of rice, characteristic wheat breeding, high-protein soybean breeding, vegetable breeding, crop gene editing technology, pomegranate genome and other aspects has reached the domestic advanced level.
