The CAAS-EAIR-ICRAF Joint Laboratory on Integrated Tree-Crop-Livestock Systems was established in 2019 as an upgraded version of the earlier “Joint Laboratory on Agroforestry and Sustainable Animal Husbandry”(founded in 2014) between the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) , Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) and International Center for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF). The joint laboratory focuses on collaborative research and technology promotion in areas including agroforestry resources assessment and recycling, environmental microbial diversity and nutrient cycling, low-carbon emission reduction and sustainable development of animal husbandry, low-carbon livestock production and sustainable development, as well as healthy livestock feeding and development of high-quality products. It aims to promote the integrated utilization of agroforestry resources and the sustainable development of animal husbandry, improve ecosystems, and enhance the international influence of both parties in related fields.
