The joint laboratory is for the prevention and control of important animal diseases, mainly focused on the establishment of real-time PCR to detect Foot-and-mouth disease and Peste des petits ruminants, developing serological detection methods and the application of these corresponding detection methods. Training of Ethiopian staff, and the development of further cooperation areas between the two sides in the future.
