Current Progress/Outcomes:
The successful implementation of the workshop systematically trained the first cohort of specialized technical personnel in potato production in Angola, significantly improving local technical capabilities and strongly promoting sustainable development of the country’s potato industry. The project received extensive coverage by authoritative Angolan media, effectively expanding China’s influence in agricultural technology across Africa. Through in-depth exchanges with the Chinese Ambassador to Angola, local government agencies, and enterprises, the direction for deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative was further clarified. Both sides expressed a shared desire to expand technical support to other key crops such as maize, rice, and soybeans, strengthening Sino-Angolan agricultural collaboration to jointly address food security challenges.

Main Content(Objectives&Activities):
The training covered techniques such as green and high-yield potato cultivation, integrated pest and disease control, seed potato production and quality control, and rapid detection of viral and bacterial diseases. It aimed to enhance local potato production technology, support industrial development, and contribute to food security.
