Current Progress/Outcomes:
SXAU has established a 30-hectare experimental demonstration base in Madagascar. Thirty Chinese varieties were introduced. Three varieties, namely Yunmian 3539, Jifeng 908 and YunH11160, were identified as high-yield and stress-resistant varieties suitable for local cultivation. Six practical technologies, including soil nutrient rapid testing technology, cotton-specific fertilizer application technology, ridge and dense planting regulation technology, bare seedling transplanting technology, soil fertility improvement technology, and foliar fertilizer spraying technology, have been exported. A set of standardized cultivation technology system suitable for local cotton production has been established. The cotton yield in the demonstration areas has generally increased by more than 100%, and the income per hectare has increased by more than 5,600 yuan. The production efficiency of fertilizers has increased by about 14%, and cost savings and efficiency improvement have exceeded 40%. Five core journal papers have been published, among which one is indexed by SCI.
